In less than two weeks, three more names have been added to The Mother’s Day Project toll of female Coalition members killed in Iraq. Today, with the Department of Defense’s announcement that Spc. Michelle R. Ring died of injuries she suffered from a mortar device in Baghdad, the number of female casualties stands at 83.
In addition to being a soldier, Specialist Ring was a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend to many. On behalf of The Mother’s Day Project, I extend heartfelt condolences to her family and to all those who knew her.
